ASSESS DHT Open Call: Testing the Usability of the ASSESS DHT Process and Tools for Assessing DHTs

ASSESS DHT has developed a novel assessment framework to ensure consistent Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of digital health technologies across Europe and to address emerging challenges in areas such as Digital Therapeutics, Artificial Intelligence, and telehealth. While the framework is still being refined, ASSESS DHT is seeking specialists with expertise in DHT development and HTA assessment to act as early adopters of the ASSESS DHT framework, contributing to its refinement through structured usability testing and expert feedback. They will be introduced to different elements of the framework, asked to review/test them, and provide feedback to the ASSESS DHT consortium.

ASSESS DHT Dresden Consortium Meeting 2026

The ASSESS DHT Consortium met in Dresden, Germany, on 22-23 January 2026 to discuss the latest project results, planned activities, and how we should strengthen our collaboration with European stakeholders to harmonise the assessment of Digital Health Technologies.

The two-day discussion focused on how to make the assessment of digital health technologies more practical, consistent, and useful across Europe. We worked hands-on around evidence generation, lifecycle thinking, and the tools being developed within the project, including how these components can better support HTA bodies and technology developers in real-world settings.

ASSESS DHT was represented in the 2025 i~HD Annual Conference.

This 10th anniversary edition of the Annual Conference, “A Decade of Joining the Dots – Towards Bridging Data Spaces”, looked back on ten years of collaborations in improving healthcare and research through better use of data.  The discussions looked ahead to the future with timely topics such as the European Health Data Space and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence by Health Systems.

Value Demonstration and Real World Evidence for Medical Technology Products

ASSESS DHT project partner TLV represented our project at the seminar "Value Demonstration and Real World Evidence for Medical Technology Products".

Carmen Fourier, Medical Assessor at TLV, held a presentation on how health technology assessments are conducted and outlined the processes for evaluation and introduction of medical devices in Sweden. This discussion also highlighted ASSESS DHT as an example on assessment of DHTs.

ASSESS DHT Publications

The ASSESS DHT project partners have been hard at work, producing key project outputs. Below are the scientific publications the project team has produced over the past couple of months, and the social media series we are using to highlight our publications, old and new.
A multidisciplinary team of experts led by Prof. Stephen Gilbert of Technische Universität Dresden, together with Dr. Anke Diehl from University Hospital Essen, has developed a practical framework: EURAID – European Responsible AI development. EURAID offers hospitals structured guidance on the collaborative, human-centered “in-house” development, validation, and implementation of AI systems.
